About
Castalia Press is a PEGECON Business.Castalia is a publishing house that celebrates literary progress and aims to provide unpublished writers with the opportunity to reach out to the many readers that want upbeat, genuine poetry, with a philosophical outlook on modern life. Literature has always been a pioneering means of communication and expression, long before means of media, such as television and radio. In recent time there is a clear decline in market demand for classical literature as the media generation begin to take over. This is especially true with regards to poetry. The previously dominant role of poetry as expression of thought, protest and philosophy, has been shadowed by a new face in music; evident in Hip Hop, rock and pop songs, which have become representative of modern youth, voicing ideas and exchanging views. Castalia is interested in unconventional and inspiring writers of all ages and backgrounds who are passionate about, as well as talented in, writing.

Catslia offers two publishing packages:OPTION 1:The first option is a standard publishing package but with high royalties of 50%. Accepting an author is subject to work review. Castalia cannot guarantee the acceptance of a writer.OPTION 2:The second option is a unique package that acts as the best alternative to a standard publishing contract. This package is ideal for writers who wish to go down the self-publishing route, without having to rely on print-on-demand.Print-on-demand is a smart business idea that has recently become a trend. The concept aims at exploiting the many unpublished writers in the market, whether they have been unsuccessful in getting a publishing deal, or, are new to the market and are impatient to get their work printed, or, simply write as a hobby and would just like to see their work in print, without particular career-orientated ambitions. With 'option 2', Castalia offers writers benefits from 'option 1', such as being professionally published. In other words, their work will be printed to a high quality finish (a specific amount of books depending on the author's fiscal flexibility) and processed. Processing means that they will have copies deposited with Poets House (in the US), and legal deposits such as with the British Library. They will be assigned ISDN numbers and barcodes and listed with international distributors and ordering networks. This means that their book[s] can be ordered via any book store using its ISDN number. Whilst print-on-demand offers publishers a chance to get registered with a digital printer (so called publisher), at a seemingly low cost, the writer will receive only a handful of copies (if that) and will later receive such low royalties that it will take a substantial success just to get their money back. This means there is less than 1% chance of ever making the minimum income one could imagine. For little more or none at all, Castalia can provide a writer with over 100 copies of their book, allowing them to also promote it themselves and not depend on some form of advertising that is the only way to generate awareness and finally have some orders of your book. Remember print-on-demand means every time a book is ordered, it is digitally printed. Castalia outsources printers from abroad who charge half or less for the same, if not better, quality.Castalia will offer you 100% royalties. The only fee you will ever incur is an initial expenditure that covers your print costs and a processing fee of £80. Copyrights remain exclusive to the author. For more information, please contact Constantine Petrou: cpetrou_castaliapress.comGood luck !
